Gaviscon Advance Aniseed Suspension – 150ml contains sodium alginate with antacids, an alginate antacid. It is used to relieve heartburn, acid reflux and indigestion.
How it works
It neutralises excess stomach acid and forms a protective layer on top of the stomach contents, helping to stop acid rising into the food pipe.
How to use it
Take the dose on the pack after meals and at bedtime. Shake liquids well before use, and chew tablets thoroughly. Always read the patient information leaflet before use.
Before you use it
Check with a pharmacist if you are on a low salt diet, have kidney or heart problems, or take other medicines, as antacids can affect how some medicines are absorbed.
Possible side effects
Side effects are uncommon. Some people notice bloating or a change in bowel habits.
