Perrigo Esomeprazole Heartburn & Acid Reflux Control 20mg Capsules contains esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It is used for the short term treatment of frequent heartburn and acid reflux in adults.
How it works
It reduces stomach acid at its source by blocking the acid pumps in the stomach lining, giving up to 24 hours of relief from one dose.
How to use it
Take one 20mg dose a day, swallowed whole with water. It may take 2 to 3 days to feel the full effect. Do not take it for longer than the pack advises without speaking to a pharmacist or doctor. Always read the patient information leaflet before use.
Before you use it
Speak to a pharmacist first if you are over 55 with new or changed symptoms, have difficulty swallowing, vomiting, weight loss or black stools, have liver problems, or take other medicines.
Possible side effects
Common side effects include headache, stomach pain, diarrhoea, constipation, wind and feeling sick.
