Alka-Seltzer Original – 20 Tablets contains aspirin, sodium bicarbonate and citric acid, an effervescent pain reliever and antacid. It is used to relieve headache and upset stomach, including after overindulgence.
How it works
Aspirin eases pain, while sodium bicarbonate neutralises excess stomach acid.
How to use it
Dissolve the tablets in water and drink. Follow the pack for how many to take and how often. Always read the patient information leaflet before use.
Before you use it
Do not take if you are under 16, allergic to aspirin, have a stomach ulcer, asthma made worse by aspirin, or take blood thinners. Check with a pharmacist if you are on a low salt diet.
Possible side effects
Aspirin can irritate the stomach. Stop taking it and get advice if you notice stomach pain or black stools.
