Zovirax Cold Sore Cream – 2g contains aciclovir 5%, an antiviral cream. It is used to treat cold sores on the lips and face.
How it works
It stops the herpes virus from multiplying, which can shorten an outbreak.
How to use it
Apply to the affected area 5 times a day, about every 4 hours, for 5 days, starting at the first tingle. Wash your hands before and after. Always read the patient information leaflet before use.
Before you use it
Do not use inside the mouth, nose or eyes, or on genital sores. Speak to a pharmacist if you have a weakened immune system.
Possible side effects
Mild burning, stinging or dryness can happen where it is applied.
