Atovaquone/Proguanil 250mg/100mg Tablets contains atovaquone and proguanil, an antimalarial. It is used to prevent malaria when travelling to risk areas.
How it works
The two medicines work together to stop the malaria parasite developing in the body.
How to use it
Start 1 to 2 days before entering the malaria area, take one tablet daily with food or a milky drink at the same time each day, and continue for 7 days after leaving. Always read the patient information leaflet before use.
Before you use it
Tell the prescriber about kidney problems, pregnancy, breastfeeding and other medicines.
Possible side effects
Side effects can include headache, stomach pain, feeling sick and diarrhoea.
