Doxycycline 100mg Capsules contains doxycycline, a tetracycline antibiotic. It is used to prevent malaria and to treat some infections.
How it works
It stops the growth of the malaria parasite and certain bacteria.
How to use it
For malaria prevention, start 1 to 2 days before travel, take one capsule daily and continue for 4 weeks after leaving. Swallow with plenty of water while sitting or standing, and not just before bed. Always read the patient information leaflet before use.
Before you use it
Not suitable in pregnancy, while breastfeeding or for children under 12. Tell the prescriber about other medicines.
Possible side effects
It can make skin more sensitive to sunlight and may cause indigestion or heartburn.
