Metformin Tablets contains metformin, a medicine for type 2 diabetes. It is used to lower blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes.
How it works
It reduces the amount of sugar the liver releases and helps the body use insulin better.
How to use it
Take with or after meals as prescribed. The dose is usually increased slowly to reduce stomach side effects. Always read the patient information leaflet before use.
Before you use it
Tell the prescriber about kidney or liver problems, heavy drinking, and any upcoming scans with contrast dye or surgery.
Possible side effects
Feeling sick, diarrhoea, stomach pain and a metallic taste are common when starting.
